Manchester City announce US tour with hilarious video featuring John Cena and Erling Haaland
Former WWE wrestler Cena made a surprise appearance
Manchester City may still be fighting on three fronts as they look to repeat their treble heroics from last season, but the last Champions League winners already know where they will go on tour next summer.
Pep Guardiola's side will head to the United States, visiting four cities, with a number of high-profile opponents lined up to face them. They will first take on Celtic in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, before heading to New York to face AC Milan.
Guardiola will be pitted against his former clubBarcelona in Orlando, Florida, before the Premier League champions close their American tour against fellow Premier League outfit Chelsea in Columbus, Ohio.
To promote the tour, they have used an American actor known for his past endeavors in professional wrestling, WWE and his appearances in projects such as The Peacemaker (2023), Argylle (2024), Barbie (2023) and Fast & Furious X (2023).
But no, it's not Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. This time, John Cena is getting involved — and the 46-year-old has contactedErling Haaland in a bizarre video to confirm their unlikely link-up.
Wearing the full Manchester City kit, Cena can also be seen putting on his best imitation of the Norwegian superstar, who was last season's top goalscorer in Europe. Cena celebrates the Cityzens ' trip to America next summer with a Haaland wing, although it's fair to say the pair looked nothing alike.
After dialling Cena on a video call, he says: «Erling, it's me John Cena! How are you?»
Haaland replies: «How come I can't see you?», to which Cena says: «You can't see me?», a reference to Cena's viral 'Invisible Man' joke that gained him a reputation for going undetected.
