Chelsea are interested in signing Manchester City talent Cole Palmer as Mauricio Pochettino looks to bring in another attacker to his squad. The Blues are looking to sign one more player before the transfer window closes, football.london understands.
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Chelsea are considering a move for Palmer and expect talks to take place to understand City's position on the youngster's future. Romano said: «Chelsea add Cole Palmer to list of talented offensive players being considered for final addition!
»Chelsea are set to open talks soon as they see Palmer as best solution. It remains to be seen Man City position on Palmer but Chelsea really want him."
When asked about what Chelsea are planning to do in the final days of the summer transfer window, Pochettino responded: «I don't know. To be honest in the last few days, we have been so focused on trying to recover the players and the game we are going to play tomorrow.
»I know very well that the club is working very hard to try and finish our business with still a few days so I think that will happen. At the moment, we are working to try and deliver what we want but there is nothing to communicate at the moment."
Chelsea's ownership met at Cobham on Tuesday to discuss potential targets before the end of the transfer window and now Palmer has emerged as an option for the Blues. TalkSPORT reporter Alex Crook has now revealed that City would be open to selling the 21-year-old for the right price this summer.
