Manchester United have been linked with a sensational move for Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior in the summer transfer window as Los Blancos look to free up funds in order to complete the signing of Kylian Mbappe.
Mbappe is available on a free transfer this summer with his contract with Paris Saint-Germain running out, but it is said that his wages could cost as much as £600,000 a week which would amount to an annual cost of £30 million. Spanish outlet Sport reports that while Vinicius is a valuable asset to Real Madrid, he could potentially be sold to finance a move for Mbappe.
This is where United come in. The report claims that United are showing an interest and would be 'willing' to pay a fee of £130million to sign Vinicius in the summer window, and that move would reignite a long-term interest that the Reds have had in the Brazilian dating back to 2017.

Should Mbappe be signed by Madrid, then any sale of Vinicius would free up the left wing with neither player blocking game time for the other at the Bernabeu, although it would present United with a similar problem with Marcus Rashford if the reports are to be believed. Sport also notes that Real Madrid have coped without the player this season with him being sidelined for most of the campaign through injury.
