It has been about 24 hours since Chelsea lost to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final and I still cannot wrap my head around what we witnessed from the Blues in extra-time.
Chelsea finished the 90 minutes the much stronger out of the two teams. How the Blues did not score during that spell is beyond me. Every single time they went forward, you would think to yourself, 'Surely this will be it'. But it never was.
The team Liverpool had on the pitch. Even the most avid of football fan would have struggled to name some of those players in red. It was almost like Liverpool's academy, albeit one filled with talented young players, against Chelsea.
Liverpool were there to be got at. The closing stages of the 90 minutes showcased just that. The Reds were tiring and Chelsea looked to be in the better condition. But for some reason, the Blues decided to take a step back in extra-time.
I'm not sure whether it had anything to do with the team-talks the two managers gave at full-time, ahead of another 30 minutes of action at Wembley, but the way Chelsea came out was really baffling – and ultimately disappointing. Mauricio Pochettino's side were trying to play on the counter-attack.
Looking to break on the Reds when they could. Against a team full of inexperienced players who were making their first appearance at Wembley.

It did not make sense. Chelsea's recent record at Wembley is appalling. The Blues have now lost their last six finals at the national stadium. Sunday felt like the best chance of them all to finally overcome their hoodoo.
