Chelsea transfer news: The Blues have been busy in the summer window but Mauricio Pochettino wants more signings to come, with links to the likes of Moises Caicedo, Michael Olise and more
Mauricio Pochettino has made his Chelsea transfer ambitions clear for the remainder of the summer window with four more signings wanted. The Blues have already completed 11 deals in the current trading period, but just under half will go straight into Pochettino's first-team plans.
Much of the window was spent focused on ensuring funds were raised after Todd Boehly parted ways with over £500million in his first two transfer windows at the club. Mason Mount, Kai Havertz and Mateo Kovacic spearheaded the mass departures with the Blues raising over £150million from selling the trio.
However, attention in west London is now firmly on strengthening Pochettino's squad with the 2023/24 Premier League season set to kick off this weekend. While talks have been ongoing for Moises Caicedo over the last few months, a different midfielder looks set to seal a Stamford Bridge switch.
According to The Athletic, the Blues will step up their interest in the United States international. Chelsea are said to be 'increasingly likely' to sign Adams. Following the potential conclusion of that transfer, Caicedo arriving could follow with a fifth bid set to be sent soon from west London.
Brighton have remained firm on their £100million valuation stance, but the Blues could get a deal done for less as per the latest report from CBS reporter Ben Jacobs. When discussing Caicedo, via Si Phillips Talk Chelsea, he wrote: "If Chelsea do go close to, or even north of, £100million, the add-ons won’t be as gettable. The structure is now as important as the number."
