Former Chelsea defender William Gallas believes Mauricio Pochettino will be sacked five to ten games into next season if he has not improved by then.
Pochettino arrived at Stamford Bridge in the summer and was given the unenviable task of turning around Chelsea's fortunes. Several new recruits were brought to the club with the focus being on youth.
Despite being the division's biggest spenders this season, the Blues have yet to improve on the pitch. Pochettino's side currently sit ninth in the Premier League but have reached the final of the Carabao Cup and the semi-finals of the FA Cup, losing out to Liverpool and Manchester City respectively.
Speaking to Lord Ping, Gallas gave a scathing review of the Chelsea boss' performance so far. "Pochettino has failed in his first season as Chelsea manager," he declared.
«There is no other conclusion that can be drawn. At the moment, he hasn’t won any trophies, and it is almost impossible for the club to qualify for European football.
»He hasn’t brought any trophies, Chelsea are ninth in the table, okay, Europe isn’t over yet, but it will be nearly impossible. At the end of the season, if he hasn’t taken the club into the Europa League, then he has failed. It is as simple as that."

When asked to predict when owner Todd Boehly is likely to sack the former PSG and Tottenham Hotspur manager, Gallas replied: «I think that the club will keep Pochettino, and he will lead the club into the next season of the Premier League.
