Kylian Mbappe has informed Paris Saint-Germain that he will leave the club at the end of the current season after deciding to end his seven-year association with the French champions.
MARCA can confirm initial reports from The Athletic and RMC Sport that the 25-year-old has communicated his decision on his future, bringing an end to one of the longest soap operas in the history of soccer.
Mbappe is yet to reveal where he will play next year, but it is expected that he will join Real Madrid when his contract expires. The LaLiga giants have remained silent over their reported pursuit.
Mbappe gave his word to PSG last summer, when he activated the clause whereby he waived the automatic one-year renewal until 2025, through a letter to the club which was leaked to the press. There, it became clear that his time at PSG was over and that he would leave the team next summer.
The club and the player have decided not to make any statements and will not communicate their decision until the end of the season when the relationship is closer to the end and the details of the exit agreement are finalized.
It would appear that everything is in place for Mbappe to seal his next move.
