Mikel Arteta has fielded questions on Emile Smith Rowe's future amid rumours suggesting he could move away from Arsenal. The 23-year-old was linked with a move to Chelsea in the final days of the transfer window.
The Blues opted instead ultimately to go for Cole Palmer from Manchester City. Arteta meanwhile insisted that a permanent exit for Smith Rowe was «never part of [Arsenal's] plans.»
