Mikel Arteta has been told the Arsenal transfer that will help Gabriel Jesus reach his full potential. The Brazil international, who joined the Gunners in the summer of 2022, has enjoyed spells of brilliance at Emirates Stadium, but he has often been plagued by injuries.

Given how much action he has missed, Arteta is understandably being cautious about his return with that likely to continue ahead of the clash against Sheffield United.
«He’s fit enough,» Arteta admitted, when asked if Jesus could start, in his Friday press conference. «How long he will last that’s something different. We didn’t want to take any risks after the result we had against Newcastle. We need him fit, he’s a massive player for us and now we want to make sure we load him in the right way.»
In his absence, Arsenal have been in fine form but Arteta will certainly prefer to have Jesus available for the upcoming set of fixtures. Scoring goals is his primary job, however what he brings to the team is invaluable and an absence of goals is often forgotten about as long as Arsenal are winning games.
Despite that, former Arsenal man Emmanuel Petit has suggested a marquee transfer could significantly help the 26-year-old. “Gabriel Jesus always gives his all, but he always lacks the coolness in front of the opposing goal," he told Wettfreunde. «Maybe a well-known newcomer would somehow give him wings. Evan Ferguson would prevail because of his effectiveness and his coolness.”
