Arsenal midfielder Jorginho believes Arsenal have learned from their mistakes last season as the Premier League title race heats up.
The Gunners were top for the majority of the 2022/23 campaign but collapsed at the back end of the season, with Manchester City eventually winning a third successive title. Mikel Arteta's side drew games against Liverpool, West Ham and Southampton in April before being beaten 4-1 at Etihad Stadium. A 3-0 home defeat to Brighton did not help matters before a 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest confirmed Man City as champions.
Arsenal are well and truly in this season's title race, however, with the north Londoners currently third, level on points withPep Guardiola's side. Liverpool are top on 54 points and it promises to be an exciting final few months of the season.
Jorginho, who joined Arsenal from Chelsea in January 2023, has impressed in the Gunners midfield this season and has offered a calm presence when Arteta has needed it most. The 32-year-old, who is yet to win the Premier League despite having Champions League, Europa League and Euro 2020 winner's medals, believes Arsenal have learned from the negative end to last season.
Speaking to Culture Cams and Lyés Bouzidi at the Puma FUTURE Boot Launch, the Italian said: «Of course you always learn from what happened and the team is so focused to work hard and we know that there's no easy games that we can let points go away like this.»
