Crystal Palace put rivalries aside to pay tribute to Millwall legend John Berylson ahead of their clash with Arsenal.
Berylson, who was Millwall's chairman, had been associated with the club since 2006, but passed away in July after being involved in a car accident.
The 70-year-old was a hugely popular figure at The Den — a reputation that spread to other clubs around the country, including their fierce rivals at Selhurst Park.
Despite their hostile on-field relationship, the Eagles showed genuine class to hold a minutes' applause for him and Nottingham Forest icon Trevor Francis before the Premier League contest with the Gunners.
As well as being impeccably observed in the stands, Palace owner Steve Parish joined club legend Mark Bright and England boss Gareth Southgate in paying tribute in the stands.
The tribute was greatly appreciated by Millwall, who took to Twitter to write: «When football unites.
»Thankyou @CPFC. A touching gesture."
The poignant moment wasn't lost on Millwall's supporters either, with one fan writing: «Cannot begin to say how classy this is from Palace. So much respect.»
«Can’t stand Palace but that’s class from the football club,» with another saying: Outstanding @CPFC, above and beyond."
One more supporter said: «Fair play to palace showing respect for JB.»
