West Ham's Mohammed Kudus had an awkward moment with a ballboy after scoring against Newcastle when his celebration didn't go as planned at St James' Park.
Kudus scored just before half-time, putting West Ham in the lead after Alexander Isak and Michail Antonio had both found the back of the net. He got on the end of Jarrod Bowen's quick free-kick and finished it off brilliantly.
After scoring, he ran towards the Gallowgate End and pointed at a ballboy, starting a chat with him. It looked like Kudus wanted the stool the boy was sitting on. But the ballboy didn't budge, seemingly not understanding what Kudus wanted while the Newcastle fans booed — they were angry that the goal was allowed while Fabian Schar was down.
So, Kudus had to do another one of his famous celebrations by sitting on the advertising boards. Lots of fans noticed this and shared their thoughts on social media, reports the Mirror.
One fan said: «No way the ball boy said he's not letting Kudus to use the chair for his celebration,» and another added: «Was Kudus actually expecting the ball boy to hand over his chair? Hell no! Talk about adding salt to injury.»
«It's amusing how the ball boy shooed Kudus away, refusing to let him celebrate on his chair against their team,» a fan laughed. Another supporter said it was the best part of the match: «The best moment has to be Kudus thinking the Newcastle ball boy might give up his stool.»
