Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo has hinted on social media that he could make his full debut against Luton Town at Stamford Bridge on Friday night.
The 21-year-old was engulfed in a huge transfer tug of war over the past few months as he looked set to leave Brighton during the summer transfer window. The Blues made their interest clear early on, but saw several bids turned down by the Seagulls as the situation dragged on.
Fast forward to August and Liverpool joined the mix, having a £110million offer accepted by the south coast outfit but with the player still holding out for a switch to west London instead. It gave the Chelsea hierarchy time to put together a transfer package that worked, agreeing a British transfer record £115million deal.
One of the most promising talents was finally in royal blue and was handed a place in the squad to face West Ham last week, featuring from the bench. His cameo did not quite go to plan though as he gave away a penalty that saw the Hammers seal a 3-1 victory at the London Stadium.
Caicedo has still been backed to perform with the Blues though, with the star still having to get up to speed with the season that's ahead. Head coach Mauricio Pochettino claimed the Ecuadorian international would be available to play against Luton on Friday as the side go in search of their first win of the campaign.

Discussing his midfield options before the game, the boss said: «Mo [Moises Caicedo] yes is ready to start. [Romeo] Lavia no. He needs a few weeks to be ready to be involved with the team. He is working to try and catch his teammates. For Romeo we need to wait a few weeks but Moises is ready.»
