Mauricio Pochettino is expected to help Mykhailo Mudryk fulfil his lofty potential at Chelsea despite his shaky start to life in west London
While he is yet to score his first competitive goal for Chelsea, Mudryk has only ever completed 90 minutes in the Premier League once. Starting just seven games and being brought off the bench in 10, the Ukraine international hasn't yet been given the chance to build any momentum.
In fact, he's never started more than two games in a row for the west Londoners. Despite his intermittent involvement, Mudryk is expected to grow into a starring role at Chelsea with the help of Mauricio Pochettino.
However, while it's clear that the Ukrainian needs time to settle at Stamford Bridge, Pat Nevin believes that the club could cut their losses and offload him before window slams shut. As quoted by the Express, the former Blues forward said: "Mudryk has not been given game-time this season.
"He is a very good player and Arsenal were desperate for him and it didn't work for him last season, but who did it work for last season at Chelsea? It depends what Pochettino thinks. They have spent huge money on a player who hasn't come good yet.
"There might be a big surprise move in and out, and it could be Mudryk. But I would be saddened as I think he's a good player and he needs to be in a team that suits him. A winning and attacking team, not a team lacking in confidence all over the pitch."
Earlier this summer, Pochettino issued an honest assessment of Mudryk and insisted that the winger needs to be slowly integrated into the starting lineup. The Chelsea boss said: "He’s a young player and a player that has a lot of talent.
