Latest Chelsea news with Mauricio Pochettino facing a major dilemma following the conclusion of the international break after Ben Chilwell and Mykhailo Mudryk's displays
Mauricio Pochettino will likely be keeping a close eye on how his Chelsea stars perform over the international break. Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo have already been in action this weekend with the midfield duo representing Argentina and Ecuador, respectively, in a World Cup qualifier.
As the weekend continues, Levi Colwill, Nicolas Jackson, Mykhailo Mudryk and Ben Chilwell are just a number of stars set to play with the latter duo also on opposite sides. In Poland, England will face Ukraine in a Euro 2024 qualifier with Chilwell and Mudryk included among the 22 players starting.
However, the international break could provide the perfect opportunity for him to stake a claim to Pochettino, however, despite some bright flurries, Kyle Walker was rarely troubled by the Chelsea star. In the late stages of the clash, Mudryk tried to break beyond the Man City defender but both of his attempts were in vain with the second incident seeing him pull up with cramp and be substituted moments later.
Alongside this, Chilwell proved he looks far more comfortable as a bombing full-back as opposed to already starting further up the pitch.
Pochettino's tactical decision has resulted in Jackson and Raheem Sterling often being the only recognised attackers to start a game. The team selection choice also seems even more baffling considering that both Noni Madueke and Cole Palmer, who despite both preferring to play on the right can be deployed on the opposite side, are being limited to brief cameos.
