Chelsea news as Mykhailo Mudryk looks to get his first start of the season for the Blues and Mauricio Pochettino aims to bounce back from defeat
Chelsea have dropped a potential hint that Ukraine winger Mykhailo Mudryk could be in the team to face Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon. The Blues head into the game with just four points from their opening four games but come up against a Cherries side winless in the league.
Injuries to Reece James, Christopher Nkunku, Carney Chukwuemeka and Armando Broja have left options going forward light in the early weeks of the campaign. Ben Chilwell, to accomodate, has been used in an unnatural left-wing spot, pushing Mudryk to the bench.
He is still waiting for his first goal for the club but has been restricted to appearances off the bench this season. Often when chasing the game and up against low-block defensive structures, the nature of his minutes has been unhelpful for his raw skillset.
However, with Chelsea struggling to carve out clear-cut chances against Steve Cooper's Forest side last time out, Mudryk may be in with a chance of some more meaningful gametime on the south coast. In a promotional pre-match graphic posted online, Mudryk is one of just two current first team players pictured.
Raheem Sterling, sporting the new mint green - described as Eton blue - third kit, takes up most of the image but Mudryk is in the top left corner as well. Although far from being surefire proof of his inclusion in the XI, it is somewhat of a hint that he may be involved at the Vitality Stadium.
