Lancashire's Moor Hall has a reputation for being one of the top restaurants in the United Kingdom.
Chef Mark Birchall opened the Aughton venue in 2016 and managed to achieve two Michelin stars and a reputation in the industry as one of the country's finest establishments.
The beautiful glass-fronted restaurant has an open kitchen as well as a walk-in cheese room, which diners are encouraged to visit to make their selection. Moor Hall also makes its own charcuterie in-house and uses honey from its five beehives located within its verdant grounds.

Mark's neighbourhood restaurant The Barn is located within the grounds of Moor Hall. Lovingly restored, The Barn offers a beautiful setting paired with great menus and excellent service and boasts a Michelin star of its own.
Several years since Moor Hall opened the venue has received countless honours and accolades, including the title of England's best restaurant in 2023. Mark told the ECHO: "Getting a Michelin star is every chef's dream. It's something you aspire to be as a chef. Winning number one venue in the National Restaurant Awards two years in a row is amazing because it's voted for by your peers. All of this was something I always hoped for but didn't ever expect."
Mark's success was highlighted further after the BBC's Hairy Bikers popped into the venue to sample the best of the area. Mark whipped up a lobster ragu deemed "a religious experience" by the celebrity chefs which he credits to the locally sourced fresh produce.
