Serie A Champions Napoli are now on a press blackout but the expectation is that they will sack Rudi Garcia.
The Partenopei lost to Empoli earlier today, leaving Garcia’s position at the club at risk. It has been reported that the club is making deeper considerations about whether to sack the Frenchman or not.
Il Roma (via CN24) have reported that the Partenopei will definitely sack Garcia and CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis will announce the manager’s exit when a replacement is found. The idea of the club is to hire Igor Tudor as a long-term boss, with the lingering possibility of Walter Mazzarri or Fabio Cannavaro taking over the interim boss.
But as things stand, surprises can’t be ruled out. A low-profile name such as Marco Giampaolo or Davide Ballardini can be brought in but it remains unlikely. De Laurentiis left the stadium right after the defeat and it seems as if the decision to sack Garcia has already been made, with the club currently in press blackout.
