Gary Neville has made the worrying claim that others within the Manchester United dressing room are "briefing against" team-mate Marcus Rashford - which would see one of Erik ten Hag's five golden rules broken.
The Red Devils forward has dominated the headlines in recent days after Rashford was spotted partying in Belfast before calling in sick to train the next day. Manager Ten Hag initially told reporters that the England international was too ill to join his team-mates, but it soon became clear Rashford would be the subject of disciplinary action.
The 26-year-old was fined a staggering £650,000 as well as being forced to train alone. However, Ten Hag has since made clear that the saga is now over and both parties regard the case as 'closed' as of Wednesday.
With that being said, Neville still harbours some concerns over Rashford moving forward and made those concerns clear while appearing on the latest edition of Sky Bet's 'The Overlap' podcast. The United legend explained how the most likely source of these Rashford-related stories being leaked to the press are the players he shares the dressing room with.
"Reading the headlines in the newspapers and the stories, it feels to me that there are a few people briefing against him," Neville explained. "There are things in there that his team-mates are sick of him, he's distant in the dressing room.
"There are things that have come out that mean there are people in the dressing room – or connected to the dressing room. Sometimes you think about support in the dressing room – who is grabbing a hold of him in that dressing room and saying, 'Sort your s*** out.'"
