The Telegraph journalist Matt Law is reporting that OGC Nice have offered a contract to Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris (36).
It had been expected that Lloris would leave Tottenham this summer. Lloris has been keen to find a club where he would be the starting goalkeeper, having lost his place at Tottenham, which is now taken up by Guglielmo Vicario. The former France captain was close to a move to Lazio earlier this summer, but once it transpired that he wouldn’t be guaranteed the number one jersey, the move fell through. On deadline day, Newcastle United tried to sign the Tottenham shot-stopper, but he would have had to settle for the number two jersey, and as a result, he also turned down the Magpies, according to L’Équipe.
Law is now reporting that former club Nice have offered him a contract. Les Aiglons are looking for a replacement for Kasper Schmeichel (36), whose contract was terminated by mutual consent earlier today. Despite being a legend of the club, Lloris is not guaranteed to start at the Allianz Riviera either, given that the club have pinned their hopes on the progression of former Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Marcin Bulka (23). Law added that it is uncertain as to whether Lloris would accept the offer and return to Le Gym.
