Tottenham Hotspur transfer news as several players are left with questions over their long-term future after the end of the summer window
Tottenham Hotspur enjoyed a successful first transfer window under Ange Postecoglou but there is always work to be done.
The early summer headlines were dominated by concerns over Harry Kane’s future, with the England captain eventually sealing a move to Bayern Munich. However, Spurs have reacted in perfect style by picking up 10 points in their first four games.
New signing James Maddison has been crucial to this early run of form, contributing two goals and assists apiece. Meanwhile, Guglielmo Vicario has replaced Hugo Lloris between the sticks, Micky van de Ven is at the heart of defence and Brennan Johnson will help bring versatility in attack. Dejan Kulusevski and Pedro Porro have also made their loan moves permanent.
In terms of outgoings, Tottenham cashed in on Harry Winks and Davinson Sanchez, who had been deemed surplus to requirements, while the club loaned out a number of fringe players, including Tanguy Ndombele, Sergio Reguilon and Japhet Tanganga. Postecoglou may have succeeded in trimming the squad but there are other players that may be moved on in the near future.
Hugo Lloris
The veteran shot-stopper has been a loyal servant to Spurs throughout his 11 years at the club. During his peak years, Lloris proved himself to be one of the best goalkeepers in world football, as well as captaining France in back-to-back World Cup finals.
