Ange Postecoglou has been speaking in his pre-match press conference at Hotspur Way ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash against Sheffield United
Ange Postecoglou has revealed that Giovani Lo Celso is not available for Tottenham's Premier League clash against Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon. Coming off at half-time with a quad strain in the recent Carabao Cup defeat at Fulham, the midfielder was not part of the Spurs squad for the win at Burnley and he was also absent for Argentina's World Cup qualifying fixtures.
Spotted on the training pitch at Hotspur Way with his teammates on Thursday, the sighting of Lo Celso gave everyone hope that he would be back in the squad to face the Blades in N17. However, it now appears that it will be next weekend's North London Derby clash against Arsenal when he does make his return.
"He's not available for this weekend," said Postecoglou in his pre-match press conference. "He trained with us yesterday but we're going to give it another week."
Apart from Lo Celso and the long-term absentees, Postecoglou had admitted that "everyone's back" and are available for this weekend's game. Given a couple of concerns over Cristian Romero and Son Heung-min during the international break, the news that everyone is OK comes as good news for the team as they look to make it four wins on the spin in the league.
"Everyone's back," explained the 58-year-old. "We had everyone back yesterday. Had more of a recovery session. All good, got through training ok. At this moment everyone came through and we've got them available."
