Arsenal winger Nicolas Pepe could still seal a move to a Saudi Arabian club even though the Premier League summer transfer window has closed
The Premier League summer transfer window is now officially closed.
Arsenal had a very busy window in terms of incomings, spending over £200million to recruit Kai Havertz, Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber on permanent deals. David Raya also joined from Brentford on a season-long loan, with the Gunners having the option to buy the Spanish international if they wish.
A number of squad players also left the Emirates Stadium, with the likes of Matt Turner, Folarin Balogun and Rob Holding all leaving permanently. But one player who wasn't able to secure a move away is Nicolas Pepe.
However, the Ivory Coast international could still land Arsenal a transfer windfall, with the Saudi Arabian transfer window not shut quite yet. In fact, Saudi sides can still sign players until September 7, with RMC journalist Fabrice Hawkins previously reporting that an unnamed Saudi club are planning to make a move for the 28-year-old with the north Londoners 'negotiating a transfer fee.'
"We are still looking for solutions and there is a lot of communication between his agent and the player and the club at the moment," the Spaniard said when asked about Pepe's future. "There is nothing to announce at the moment."
Liverpool forward Mohammed Salah is perhaps the highest-profile player who continues to be the subject of interest from a Saudi club. In fact, the Reds reportedly rejected a bid from Al-Ittihad worth £150million for the Egypt international on Friday afternoon.
