Padraig Lynch netted twice for Dergview in their crucial basement battle victory over Knockbreda

Michael Harris opened the scoring in the first-half before Mikhail Kennedy sealed the points in the 89th minute.
Padraig Lynch’s second-half double gave Dergview a 2-1 win over Knockbreda in the basement battle at Breda Park.
The hosts were dreaming of recording two wins in a row for the first time in the 2023/24 season when Caleb Crawford scored just before half-time, but Lynch turned the game on its head with strikes in the 61st and 84th minutes.
Dergview now have their sights set on catching Ards, who lost 1-0 to Harland and Wolff Welders at Clandeboye Park courtesy of a Michael McLellan penalty.
The Dergs are now just four points behind the struggling Red and Blues – who have failed to claim a win in 12 League outings – with two games in hand.
League leaders Dundela suffered a 4-0 defeat away to bogey club Annagh United at BMG Arena on Friday night.
Kris Calvert, Callum Ferris, James Convie and Darragh Stewart all scored for the hosts.
Bangor also won 4-0 on Friday, putting Ballyclare Comrades to the sword thanks to goals from Scott McArthur (2), Ben Cushnie and Ben Arthurs.
