English assistant coach Paul Nevin is poised to join Patrick Vieira’s coaching staff at RC Strasbourg Alsace, according to a report from L’Équipe.
Vieira was officially appointed as the new boss at BlueCo-owned Strasbourg on Sunday. The former Arsenal legend will be accompanied in Alsace by his long-standing assistant coach Kristian Wilson. The Strasbourg backroom coaching staff is also composed of Mathieu Le Scornet, who took over the senior squad after Julien Stéphan’s dismissal last season, and Jean-Marc Kuentz. Nevin is expected to join them.
The 54-year-old Englishman is an experienced coach. He deputised England national team manager Gareth Southgate during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Nevin has been released by West Ham United, the club he was working for since February 2020. With the Hammers, Nevin was part of the backroom staff that lifted the UEFA Conference League last month. Nevin previously held coaching jobs at Fulham, Norwich and Brighton and Hove Albion.
