Mauricio Pochettino has been speaking to the media ahead of Chelsea's Premier League meeting with Luton Town and the head coach was asked about the club's transfer plans
Mauricio Pochettino has explained how Chelsea are still working in the summer transfer window and are searching for the "right profile" of player in the final days.
As well as that, though, the club are working behind the scenes to try and sign a versatile attacker; someone that can play on the right wing and also operate as a No.10. The likes of Brennan Johnson, Rayan Cherki and Bradley Barcola have been linked in recent days, with Chelsea holding an interest in all of them.
Pochettino, when speaking to reporters prior to the Blues' clash with Luton Town on Friday night, has explained that the club are still doing their best behind the scenes to enhance their squad options. The Argentine also spoke about how finding the "right profile" is the most important thing with just over a week remaining of the window.
"It's open, the transfer window. The club is working," he said. "Some players are linked with the club, some are true, some are not true. We will inform when something happens."
He added: "We are trying to find the right profile. The most important [thing] is the right profile to add to the squad that doesn't have to be a problem with this player. This player can be compatible and that's why it's not easy but we are trying to do something."
Chelsea were already on the lookout for an offensive player following the departures of Mason Mount, Kai Havertz, Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech. But that was made even more significant by injuries to the likes of Christopher Nkunku, Carney Chukwuemeka and Mykhailo Mudryk.
