Chelsea news: Reece James appears set to make the journey to the USA to join up with his Chelsea teammates for pre-season, despite injury concerns.
The full-back has had a tough run of injuries over the last few seasons, with the latest campaign seeing him miss a stretch of games with muscular issues. There had been some hope that a full pre-season may be able to put an end to any concerns, but that took a turn.
The England international was left out of the provisional squad making their way to the USA, claimed to be a precaution due to illness. While in the States, the Blues are set to face League Two Wrexham first up before taking on fellow Premier League sides Brighton and Newcastle and then Borussia Dortmund.
That's not to say James won't be involved at all through the tour, but it seems increasingly likely that he won't be part of the team to face Wrexham. However, he has hinted at the fact he is travelling to the USA for the pre-season camp and could feature in the games following.
Taking to Instagram, the Cobham academy graduate posted a photo of some food, but it was the caption that caught the attention of many. He posted: "C you soon [USA flag emoji]." seemingly hinting at his travel to the States to link up with the rest of the squad this summer.
It remains to be seen how much of pre-season he will be able to join up for and how fit he can get before the new season, but many will be hoping those injury concerns he has had will be banished.
