Popular Arsenal chief Vinai Venkatesham to leave after 14-year stint but makes promise to fans

Arsenal’s chief executive officer Vinai Venkatesham will leave the club next summer after 14 years.

The highly-regarded executive has promised a ‘seamless transition’ and has been thanked by co-chairman Josh Kroenke ahead of next year’s departure.

In a statement on Arsenal.com, Venkatesham said: “This was a tough decision, but it is time to pursue another challenge. 

“Now is not the time for goodbyes as I remain focused until my last day and supporting a seamless transition."

Kroenke added to those comments by writing: “The Board is fully supportive of Vinai’s desire to pursue his next challenge. 

“Whilst it is business as usual with everyone focused on the season ahead, we’d like to take this moment to thank him for his contribution and long service. Vinai will always be part of the Arsenal family and always welcome back at Emirates Stadium.

“Change and succession is something the club is well prepared for. The Board remains committed to our strategy and will address leadership change as we continue to drive the club forward.”

The Athletic claim that the decision was made by Venkatesham who is seeking new challenges away from the Emirates.

Initially joining as the club’s head of global partnerships, Venkatesham worked his way up at the club and was named in one of the most senior positions as CEO three years ago.
