Ange Postecoglou has been dealt a major dilemma ahead of Tottenham's clash with Brentford on the opening weekend of the new Premier League campaign. The Bees will welcome Spurs to the Gtech Community Stadium on Sunday afternoon, August 13, as both sides look to start the season on the right foot.
The 30-year-old striker must now decide whether or not we wants to join Bayern. It's said that Kane, who sees his contract in north London expire in 12-months, wants his future solved before Spurs lock horns with Brentford this weekend.
So, with that being said, football.london have taken a look at how Postecoglou could lineup against Brentford without Kane in the starting XI...
Formation
Postecoglou is known to favour a 4-2-3-1 formation, with the playmaker – who is central of three – playing a crucial role, whether it be roaming forward to link play or dropping deeper to create a flat-three to provide great defensive support. The Australian has stuck by this shape throughout pre-season, so the Lilywhites have plenty of experience under their belt.
Goalkeeper
Between the sticks is Guglielmo Vicario. The Italian has started every pre-season friendly for Tottenham this summer and, while he hasn't necessarily shut the flood gates, he's played a major role in allowing Postecoglou to implement his passing out of the back philosophy.
Defence
A back four of Emerson Royal, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Destiny Udogie. The two newbies are expected to significantly bolster Spurs' backline this season following impressive campaigns in Germany and Italy, respectively.
