The Premier League is back after the international break, but there are concerns over player injuries.
Clubs across England are now shifting their focus back to domestic competitions. During the break, several Premier League players suffered injuries, raising questions about the increasing number of matches they have to play each year.
The correlation between frequent games and injuries is evident, with some players experiencing issues over the two-week period. Here's the latest news on the most significant injuries in the division ahead of Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 13:
England manager Gareth Southgate confirmed that the West Ham United forward was the latest in a long line to pull out of his Three Lions squad over the break amid injury problems. Speaking ahead of the 1-1 draw against North Macedonia, Southgate said: «Unfortunately, Jarrod picked up an injury. I think he felt it a little bit yesterday and then again at the end of training today. So we didn't really have enough time to assess it fully and make a really accurate decision before the game.
»We felt better to leave him in England so that he can get it properly assessed. I don't think it's going to be anything serious, but we just didn't have enough time, and we wouldn't take a risk in that player."
While his knee problem is thought to be a minor issue, Hammers fans will still be wary of Bowen's involvement after Michail Antonio also suffered a hamstring issue for Jamaica causing David Moyes an even bigger headache. Moyes said on Friday: «We hope Jarrod will be available tomorrow against Burnley but we will make a decision on that tomorrow.»
