Striker Ben Arthurs has agreed a contract extension at Bangor until 2026
Promotion hopefuls Bangor have signed up star striker Ben Arthurs to a one-year contract extension until 2026.
The 25-year-old, who signed a professional contract to 2025 during the summer of 2023 and has scored 21 goals in the 2023/24 season, has attracted interest from several Premiership clubs, with Crusaders heavily linked with the tall forward.
Arthurs – brother of former Crues and Ards ace Ross – has helped Bangor to two promotions and the Steel and Sons Cup in recent years.
The Kircubbin man said: “Everyone knows how much I love this club.
“I am really proud of playing my part in the Bangor journey and helping the club get promoted to and progress in the NIFL Championship.
“Lee (Feeney, manager) is building a team and a squad to compete in the Championship and beyond. I want to be a part of that and help the club push on.
“I believe we can achieve something special in the next few years and that is why I am extending my contact with the Seasiders.
“Bangor FC is a special club – the fans are amazing. It is a cliché, but they are our 12th man. Bangor fans are always with the team from the first minute until the match finishes. There isn’t a fanbase as passionate and supportive as ours in the League.”
With the Seasiders not in action this weekend, Arthurs will be hoping his old club Ards do their rivals a favour on Saturday.
The Red and Blues travel to Wilgar Park to face League leaders Dundela. If the Duns claim victory, they will extend their lead at the top of the Playr-Fit Championship to five points.
