PSG midfielder Renato Sanches (25) is nearing a season-long loan to Serie A side AS Roma, according to a report this Wednesday from L’Equipe. The Portugal international’s debut season in the French capital was plagued by frequent muscle injuries. He featured only 27 times with Les Parisiens, logging two goals in the process. The former Bayern Munich player joined PSG from Lille OSC one year ago on an €18m deal. The Euro 2016 breakout player signed a five-year deal with Les Parisiens in June 2022.
Contrary to out-of-favour PSG midfielders Georginio Wijnaldum and Leandro Paredes, Sanches is part of the squad that has flown to Japan for the club’s pre-season Asia tour. The French publication understand that talks have intensified between AS Roma, PSG and the Euro 2016 winner. Sanches is reportedly one of the players Giallorossi coach José Mourinho is interested in bringing to the Eternal City. L’Equipe adds that PSG would include an option to buy in Sanches’ season-long loan to AS Roma.
