Ange Postecoglou has declared he won't disagree with Lionel Messi after the football superstar labelled Tottenham star Cristian Romero the 'world's best defender'.
Messi was impressed by Romero's commanding recent performance for Argentina against Ecuador - and believes the sky is the limit for the man he won a World Cup with last year in Qatar.
'For me, he is the best defender in the world right now,' the Inter Miami forward said following the clash in Buenos Aires, where the veteran scored the winner with a trademark free kick.
'Amazing performance, he was our man of the match.'
Speaking to talkSPORT, 'Aussie Ange' said he is on the same page as Messi when it comes his thoughts on Romero, who has quickly developed into a leader in north London.
'I wouldn't argue with Messi,' a smiling Postecoglou said.
'I'll tell you what, I wouldn't like to play against him [Romero].
'Most of the boys don't like to train against him. He's a real competitor and I love that about him.
'Whether it's training or a game, what you see is what you get with him.'
Romero joined Spurs on an initial loan deal from Italian side Atalanta before making the move permanent in August last year.
Meanwhile, Postecoglou - not for the first time in his managerial career - has silenced the detractors after a flying start to his time in the Premier League.
Tottenham sit in second spot and are unbeaten after four games, only trailing Manchester City.
Spurs are also winning plenty of admirers due to Postecoglou's attack-minded approach.
Additionally, the former Socceroos boss is clearly loving his underdog status.
He recently left an English journalist red-faced following a scarcely believable 'backhand compliment' involving a tribute from pop star Robbie Williams.
