Referee Darren England will take charge of his first match since the Tottenham vs Liverpool fiasco, it has been confirmed.
The 37-year-old will officiate the Severnside derby, which sees Cardiff face Bristol City on Saturday.
England returns for the first time ever since he wrongly failed to overturn Luis Diaz's disallowed goal in Liverpool's 2-1 defeat to Tottenham on September 30.
The official was working as a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) on the day.
He had been the fourth official for Brentford's match with Burnley at the Gtech Community Stadium last weekend, but will now be in charge of the whistle, albeit in a Championship match.
His assistant, Dan Cook, ran the line as in Sheffield United's 2-1 defeat to Manchester United on Saturday night.
The pair were dropped from referring duties after failing to allow Diaz's goal to stand at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
After the assistant flagged for offside, referee Simon Hooper disallowed Diaz's goal.
However, the referee on VAR, Darren England, incorrectly thought that the on-field decision was to allow it.
This means England quickly checked if the winger was onside and then told the onfield team 'check complete' to award the goal, as Diaz was in an onside position.
But when Hooper was told 'check complete', he understood it to mean the offside decision from the linesman was correct.
Therefore, this meant the goal remained disallowed rather than the decision being overturned.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp had called for the match to be replayed, and referee chief Howard Webb opted to release the audio of conversations.
