Robbie Keane has secured the first piece of silverware of his managerial career.
Keane's Maccabi Tel Aviv outfit won the Toto Cup, overcoming rivals Maccabi Haifa after penalties on Wednesday evening. Neither team managed to find a breakthrough in front of nearly 14,000 spectators at Netanya Stadium.
Legendary former Republic of Ireland striker Keane, who took over the top job at Tel Aviv seven months ago, has led his side to their first Toto Cup win since 2021, while they also sit atop the Israeli Premier League.
43-year-old Keane was part of the coaching ticket at championship outfit Middlesbrough, while he had a very brief time in a similar role at Leeds United, under Sam Allardyce, before heading to Israel for the new season.
He also held the assistant manager role during Mick McCarthy's pre-Stephen Kenny stint as Republic of Ireland boss.
