Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski has put their improvement in recent weeks down to more intensity in training in recent weeks, as the Blaugrana find perhaps their best form of the season. Their victory over Atletico Madrid was a first home league defeat of the season for Diego Simeone, and they are the first side to beat them at the Metropolitano in La Liga since they did last year, in January of 2023.
Lewandowski was the star of the show for Barcelona, scoring a brilliant finish on the turn and providing two assists for Joao Felix and Fermin Lopez. He was content with the performance afterwards, as he spoke to DAZN Espana.
“Is it the best game of the season? It could be. I’m not sure. The Blaugrana are now over 400 league minutes without conceding a goal, their best run of the season, and for the third time in five matches, went into the final stages with a comfortable lead.
