Brighton and Hove Albion manager Roberto De Zerbi is highly in demand as the Premier League season starts to draw to a close.
Liverpool have already been linked with a move for De Zerbi if their approach for Xabi Alonso fails while Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe admires the Italian and how his teams are set up. The latest club to be added to the mix are the Blues.
Mauricio Pochettino's first campaign at Stamford Bridge has been largely unsuccessful. Premier League struggles have continued from last year despite more eye-watering sums having been spent and with Todd Boehly's trigger-happy approach to sacking managers, many feel the former Spurs and PSG man is on borrowed time.
After his last managerial raid went so well, Boehly is linked with bringing De Zerbi to the capital. Should he make the switch, the Italian will know some of the squad already.
Moises Caicedo worked closely with De Zerbi on the South Coast before pushing through his transfer to Chelsea but he is not the player whom the former Shakhtar Donetsk manager has a 'special relationship' with. In April, the Seagulls' head coach explained it is Mykhailo Mudryk whom he has a close bond.
Discussing the Ukrainian, De Zerbi said: «Me and my staff have a special relationship [with Mudryk]. He is like a son to us.
