Joao Pedro and Roberto De Zerbi jumped into the crowd after the Brazilian's late strike saw Brighton secured their spot in the Europa League last 16.
The Seagulls needed to secure victory over Marseille to claim top spot in Europa League Group B, something that they managed with a 1-0 win at the AMEX Stadium.
As a result, Brighton will skip the play-off round and advance straight to the last 16 of the competition.
It had been a tight contest with the French side with Gennaro Gattuso's side looking like good value for the point needed to claim top spot themselves.
However, Pedro looked like a man who was desperate to be the hero of the night, something that he managed with a fierce right-footed effort that flew into the top corner of the net.
The former Watford man was elated with the effort and ran towards the jubilant home crowd, jumping in among them and hugging a number of fans who were keen to show their appreciation.
The young forward wasn't the only one who was overcome with delight either, with De Zerbi running straight into the crowd behind the dugout to hug a young supporter, before embracing his backroom team on the south coast.
Clearly disgruntled at losing top spot, Marseille's supporters let off flares in the away end which led to smoke swarming the AMEX Stadium for the five minutes of added time.
But that wasn't enough to ruin the party for Brighton's players and fans, who danced in the stands as they celebrated the continuation of their European journey.
