Chinese New Year marks the start of a new lunar year, and for 2024 it falls on Sunday, February 10.
Liverpool hosts an annual celebration to highlight the rich and diverse community the city has built - the oldest Chinese community in Europe. While this year's events remain under wraps, The Year of the Dragon is expected to be brought in with a programme of parades, family workshops, and firecracker displays.
Across the UK and beyond many will begin their celebrations by spring cleaning. On Chinese New Year it is also common for people to give gifts of money, clothes and food.
