Former Manchester United forward Dwight Yorke has suggested Erik ten Hag should drive to Marcus Rashford's house to get the to route of his issues.
Rashford missed United's FA Cup win over Newport just over a week ago after he called in sick for training just hours after he was seen in a Belfast nightclub, in a separate country to the Carrington training ground.
The 26-year-old has been the focus of attention around the club since, and scored against Wolves in his side's 4-3 win last week in his return to action.
United manager Ten Hag repeatedly refused to address the situation in the media, but claimed the case is now closed after dealing with the 'internal matter'.
Yorke, however, suggested that there could be something deeper going on for Rashford, and that his manager should take matters into his own hands to find out what that is.
'I don't condone what he's done,' Yorke said, speaking to Sky Sports. 'I think he came out an apologised for that. I feel like, in fact I know, Marcus Rashford is the best player at Manchester United Football Club.
'You can't have your best players going of the walls like that, that doesn't happen. There's a reason behind it, I think it's the manager's duty to find out what the reason is about, to have that one-on-one conversation as to why his star man is doing what he's doing.
'There is more to it. There might be more to what we don't know. Yes, the media speculate, and yes, he was in Belfast doing what he's doing when he's not supposed to have done. I don't condone that for a minute, no way.
'But it must be a route to it somewhere that you need to get to the bottom of. And if I was Ten Hag, I would drive to his house. I'll have one on one with this conversation in front of him. In front of
