Jurgen Klopp provides Mohamed Salah Liverpool injury update amid Arsenal and Man City tittle battle

Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Liverpool are having to remain cautious with Mohamed Salah's hamstring injury. The Egypt international returned to training on Tuesday.

Salah has also been included in the Liverpool squad for Thursday’s Europa League tie in Prague, increasing his chances of facing Manchester City in this weekend’s pivotal clash in the Premier League title race. The forward, who has scored 19 goals this season, has played only 45 minutes since January 1, when he netted two goals in a 4-2 victory over Newcastle United.

The forward has not played since his last comeback game, when he scored and assisted in Liverpool’s win at Brentford last month. His previous club game was against Newcastle United on New Year's Day.

And while Klopp is delighted to have his marksman available for selection once more, he hinted he might not be thrust immediately back into the action with Manchester City to visit Anfield this weekend.

He said: «Mo Salah has travelled. He is with us and has trained two days, he is full of energy, we have to see. But it is so good that he is back. It is really good and you can see it in his face.

»It was a very unlikely situation being that long out and then came back against Brentford, played an incredible game and was then out again, so that is how it is.
