Paris Saint-Germain were provided a heroes welcome by their supporters as they returned home from their trip away to Olympique de Marseille.
Over 300 supporters waited for them at the Roissy-Charles-De-Gaulle airport and met the players with a raucous response to the 2-0 victory over their eternal rivals. According to RMC Sport, the PSG plane had not left the Marseille airport by the time the airport parking lot was full of supporters.
Once the players arrived, they witnessed a full demonstration of the supporters’ affection as they sang chants, lighting flares and smoke bombs. Warren Zaïre-Emery (18), continuously growing into his leadership role at the club spoke to the fans on behalf of the PSG players.
In part, it was a celebration of the dominance that PSG have held over Marseille in recent years. The league leaders have not been beaten away in the derby for thirteen years and have not allowed their hosts to score against them in the Stade Vélodrome since 2017.
