Al Ittihad will make another move to sign Mohamed Salah, talkSPORT understands.
A PIF delegation are expected to finally make a formal offer to Liverpool worth £128million.
However, this bid could go as high as £171million as they look to test the Reds' resolve ahead of the 11pm deadline for Premier League clubs — though the Saudi Pro League window is open until 7 September.
The 31-year-old arrived at Anfield in 2017 and has since gone on to score 187 goals in 307 appearances for the club, providing 80 assists for his teammates.
With two years remaining on his contract, the Reds are under no financial pressure to sell their star man, something that manager Jurgen Klopp reiterated during a frosty press conference on Friday.
Klopp said: “The position remains the same, absolutely. There’s no doubt about that.
“He cannot go, that’s how it is. So there’s nothing else to say.”
Asked if there’s been an offer, Klopp said: “Not as far as I know but that doesn’t mean lot, to be honest.”
