Sir Jim Ratcliffe 'sets Manchester United limit' for Ivan Toney and other transfer rumours
Manchester United's incoming co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, is reportedly unwilling to match Brentford's valuation for Ivan Toney in the summer transfer market.
Toney has recently returned to first-team football after an eight-month ban for gambling-related offences. Incredibly, the 27-year-old has not missed a beat upon his return to the squad and has two goals from three Premier League appearances.
Before his return to football, Toney spoke about his ambition to play for a 'top six' club and with his contract expiring in 2025, clubs are on red alert to make a move at the end of the season. One of the teams likely to be interested is United who are set to have just one recognised centre-forward in their squad come the summer with Anthony Martial expected to depart.

Ratcliffe and INEOS are thought to be compiling a list of transfer targets who are heading into the last 12 months of their contract, so it is likely Toney would make that cut. However, according to the Daily Star, the British billionaire is reluctant to pay the £100m price tag the Bees want.
It is understood he sees little sell-on value in Toney and Ratcliffe has noted his lack of Champions League and international football. Instead of breaking the bank, INEOS is believed to be willing to bid up to £70m for the striker.
Elsewhere, Nice's Khephren Thuram is continuing to be linked to United with reports surfacing from Italy. According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Erik ten Hag is keen on adding a versatile midfielder to his ranks in the summer and the 22-year-old fits the bill.
