Despite a long list of closures this year, food and drink fans needn't fret, as there's still much on offer, including new additions to Merseyside's hospitality scene.
From trendy new bars to bustling restaurants, many of the region's latest venues are already proving popular, looking set to conquer 2024.
Here is seven notable arrivals to Merseyside's food and drink scene this year.

Housed in Liverpool's business district, NORD celebrates Northern hospitality and heritage. Influenced by Scandinavian cuisine, the restaurant brings locally-sourced ingredients together to create modern dishes.
Executive chef, Daniel Heffy's career has seen him at some of the city's top restaurants, including The Art School and Buyers Club. In 2017, he moved to Stockholm to work at the three Michelin Star Frantzén, which is widely regarded as one of the best restaurants in the world, before joining one Michelin Star Nordic restaurant, Adam/Albin as Head Chef.
Daniel returned home and opened NORD this year with Graffiti Spirits Group, owners of Duke Street Market, Bold Street Coffee and El Bandito.

From the team that brought us Roxy Ball Room, Roxy Lanes is more bowling focused than its sister venue, but you can still take part in activities such as American pool, beer pong, ice-free curling, karaoke, shuffleboard and tech darts.
And while the Roxy Ball Room venues are strictly for adults, those under 18 will be allowed entry in Roxy Lanes until 5pm on Saturdays and every other night
