South Africa will bowl first in the second ODI against Sri Lanka at the Diamond Oval in Kimberley. Protea captain Laura Wolvaardt won the toss.
The first ODI at Buffalo Park in East London was abandoned as a result of persistent rain. The Proteas batted first and scored 270 for six, with Tazmin Brits the top scorer with 116. When play was finally called off in the Sri Lanka innings, the visitors were on 23 without loss after 6.5 overs.
Sri Lanka won the three-match T20I series 2-1, the first time they managed to win a series in South Africa.
The third and final ODI is on Wednesday 17 April in Potchefstroom. It will be the last competitive match for South Africa before the T20 World Cup in September and October in Bangladesh.
