Bayern deadline
Bayern are insistent they want to get a deal done, with Harry Kane their priority target and the persistent comments from in and around the German club have irked those in north London. Bayern president Herbert Hainer said this week: "Bayern always try to bring in stars. Harry Kane is a highly attractive player, the England captain and a top scorer. He would do us and the Bundesliga good."
He said: "The club are still very positive about the deal and are hopeful the Englishman played his last match for Tottenham against LC Sailors. They would like to complete the deal before Spurs’ next match against Shakhtar Donetsk on August 6 in London."
Maguire mission
However, there is another high-profile player Spurs should be signing, according to former player Teddy Sheringham - Harry Maguire from Manchester United. Speaking to Lord Ping, Sheringham said: "Harry Maguire would be an excellent option for Tottenham’s defence.
"Whenever you watch Maguire play for England, he rarely lets anyone down. He is a solid, proven professional that is well-suited for the Premier League. He has had a tough time at Manchester United – he took a lot of flak and was always the fall guy.
"I actually think that those experiences at United will hold him in good stead and could push him on to have a brilliant end to his career. He will have plenty to prove and I think he would be a great signing for Tottenham."
Dier pours his heart out
Eric Dier could not hold back the tears as he spoke for the first time about his former Tottenham team-mate Dele Alli's brave interview.
