Spurs outcast holds crunch talks with chairman amid Ange’s brutal cold shoulder

Tottenham Hotspur outcast Eric Dier has reportedly held crunch talks with club chairman Daniel Levy having had his playing time drastically reduced under new boss Ange Postecoglou.

Dier, who played 33 Premier League games for Tottenham last season, has not featured in any of Postecoglou’s matchday squads in the league or their Carabao Cup loss to Fulham.

The 29-year-old is also out of contract at the end of the season.

It’s left Dier contemplating his future at the club and according to The Telegraph, he held a “frank conversation” with Levy about the situation.

There is no indication as to what the conversation was exactly about, but it is highly likely his future and playing time would have been a topic of discussion.

However, the England international could soon be brought back into the fold given Tottenham sold Davinson Sanchez to Galatasaray.

The Colombian was seen as the first choice back-up at centre-back, but with his move to Turkey, it bodes well for Dier’s hopes and means he’s a strong chance of making Postecoglou’s final 25-man squad for the league.

It is a harsh reality for Dier who has been with the club for nine years and is a part of their leadership group.

However, he was overlooked for the captaincy role by Postecoglou as the Aussie opted to hand the armband to Son Heung-Min.

As for Dier’s future, he has been linked with a move to the lucrative Saudi Pro League
