St George made it three wins out of three when they beat Shashemene City 3-2 in a 5-goal thriller Friday.
Hadiya Hossana and Wolkite City played out a goalless draw in the other game of the day
St George got out of the gates early on the 10th minute with a goal by Yared Dawit.
Abel Yalew got on the score sheet 23 minutes later to bring the game level for St George.
Shashemene City got ahead once again in the 65th minute goal scored by Allan Kayiwa
The Champions will not be beaten that easily, and true to character, they were soon back on level teams through Bereket Wolde's 78th minute equalizer.
It looked like they will both settle for a goalless draw on 90 minutes but there was another 6 minutes to play
St George won a late Penalty and Abel Yalew converted with the last kick of the game to earn the Horsemen a hard fought 3-2 won.
Hadiya Hossana and Wolkite will continue their early romance with the relaxation zone but for St George, they look like they are poised for a third straight championship.
