Stellenbosch have extended the contracts of three of their home-grown talents, tying down Jayden Adams, Kyle Jurgens and Devon Titus to long term contracts, the club has announced.
All of them have come through Stellenbosch’s highly rated junior ranks with Adams called up to the national team squad for last month’s two World Cup qualifiers against Benin and Rwanda and Titus scoring last Saturday as the Winelands club booked a place in the Carling Knockout final.
Both are 22 years old and now a permanent fixture in the Stellenbosch starting line-up.
The club has deliberately elected to keep secret the length of all contract but said they had signed “long term deals”.
Jurgens, who is 20, has signed a first professional contract. Last season, he made an impressive full debut in their upset Nedbank Cup victory over Mamelodi Sundowns but had few chances on the right hand side of defence while captain Dean van Rooyen holds onto his place.
“Everyone at Stellenbosch Football Club is incredibly proud to see a talented, home-grown player like Jayden Adams commit his future to the club,” Chief Executive Officer Rob Benadie said.
“Jayden was the first youth player to come through our academy ranks and sign a professional contract back in 2020, and it has been a privilege to have since watched him develop into a first-team regular and a fully-fledged international for South Africa.”
